Handicap Access

We are sensitive to the
needs of handi-capable individuals... In fact, this is a picture
of my brother skiing in Breck about 10 years ago in the Nationals :-) However, none of our places are officially handicap accessible
as far as the letter of the law. We
anticipate installing some grab bars – but they are not in place right
now. We also do not have any benches in
the shower area’s. Those would be supplied by the guest (so we don’t get sued if they were to fail).
That all having been said - the below descriptions may be helpful...
1) 1BR/2BA Corral:
2) 2BR/2BA Longbranch:
- Exterior / Parking: Private heated garage and radiant heated driveways make it easy to easily get into the building.
- Interior: Double doors lead to ramp up to the front door of unit. No snow to worry about here. Front doorway is large enough and hall is wide enough for a wheel chair. Living space open and easy rolling on hard wood floors. Doorway to bedroom ok.
- Interior Master Bath: Easy to access sink. However, the commode is through a normal sized doorway. I think it will be easy to access commode and tub / shower, provided the left arm rest is removed.
- Hot Tub: Elevator up - but roughly 5 stairs to hot tub...
2) 2BR/2BA Longbranch:
- Underground heated parking: Good! However, you will be faced with three stairs up and three down to get to the elevator UNLESS you roll to the back of the garage and take the elevator. It is level it is just an extra 150 yards (total).
- Front door of unit: Person in wheelchair would probably need some help navigating the threshold. It is an older building and I don’t think they were worried about being in code. Therefore, this is a about a 3 to 4 inch drop down to the floor. If you are ambulatory – no issue – just an issue for those rolling.
- Interior: Wide hallways. Hardwood floors ok for getting around. Minimal access to decks. (possible but bumpy on the way out ). In general easy to get around.
- Interior GUEST bathroom: Easy to access sink, commode and Tub
- Interior Master bathroom: It is much tighter but as pictures (remember – just look at the pictures under properties…) but doable. The shower is a walk in. Nobody has ever tried to roll a wheelchair in – so I don’t know about that.
