Snow conditions (Early Season / Late Season)

Picture
Some of our most popular questions are...

Q:  Will there be snow/skiing for Thanksgiving?
A:  Most likely.  The mountain is now opening EARLY November (the weekend of the 7th!!).  This means that Vail Corporation believes there will be snow and is willing to bet big on it.  If there is not a lot of natural snow - they will be making snow like crazy.  Great for beginner and  intermediate skiers / boarders!

Q:  Will there still be snow in mid April?
A:
YES.  There will be snow and the mountain will be open till late April (the 20th will be the last day they are open).  April is a great time to enjoy Breckenridge, since it will not be as crowded as March.  The weather is also fantastic (outdoor lunches, etc...).  The downside is the snow will not be the light fluffy stuff Breckenridge is known for.  It will be a little heaver due to the warmth.  You will typically not being skiing 'out-of-bounds, but instead on groomed runs...
